Nikki Solomon Nikki has always had a deep connection and appreciation for nature, growing up in the foothills of the Appalachians in Alabama. She could be found playing with flowers and faeries as a little girl, and has spent a lot of her present days in the garden. The mountains of North Carolina drew her here for their healing beauty and inspiration. She enjoys working with people and plants and wants to share the divine in the green with others. In 1999, Nikki obtained her bachelors in nursing and has been working with mothers and babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for 8 years. She wants to continue to support women and children through all aspects of life and plans to specialize in their care. She felt drawn to a gentler way of life and health, and began to explore her roots of Earth healing with Rosemary Gladstar. She has studied at the North Carolina School of Holistic Herbalism, apprenticed with Corey Pine Shane at the Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine, and has advanced and clinical herbal training at the Mountain Spirit School of Herbalism. She recently studied flower essence healing with Kate Guilday and David Dalton in the beautiful forests of the southern Adirondacks. Nikki has a deep belief that healing comes from within. She strives to open up possibilities of healing for others, helping to create a harmonious balance in their lives. She combines Traditional Western Herbalism, Flower Essences, Appalachian folk traditions and Plant Spirit Medicine for a holistic approach to health and healing. She is pursuing training in ancient Mayan healing of the womb with abdominal massage and plans to provide this for her clients in the future. Nikki is passionate about spreading her love for herbs in the community and protecting the biodiversity of our forests. This passion is expressed through her involvement as the secretary of the NC chapter of the American Herbalists Guild and involvement with the North Carolina Plant Savers. She runs a small home based apothecary, Wild Flower Botanicals, and strives to teach others the use of ethically wildcrafted products and herbal medicines. |
